My New Favorite Password Manager

So recerntly lastpass did something annoying enough that I actually bothered researching alternatives.

This articale isn’t about lastpass tho. Nope! Instead is about the my new favorite password manager.

Enpass is great!!!

If you trust me, Then you could try Enpass and stop reading here.

Humm…

enpass

Totally Normal Surface Level Features

  1. Totally cross-platfrom
  2. Its a non-browser based solution
  3. One time Purchase Option
  4. Non-archaic GUI (Guys it has dark mode!)
  5. You can download and taste it before you buy, no card required!
  6. Easy Password Import. (Better than Lastpass Import)
  7. Totally customizable fields
  8. (Sadly its not opensource) O well.

Epic Features

  1. Cloud storage with multiple optional providers
  2. Local Cross devise Wifi Sync

Like I said its a non-browser based solution. You don’t actually need to trust that thier servers are handling your passwords correctly.

Despite that they have various options for cross device syncing. I personally like thier Wifi Sync option. But you can also store your encrypted vault on the cloud with Dropbox or Google Drive.

  1. Biometric Unlock Option
  2. Pin based quick unlock

Say what you will about the security of biometric unlocking, But it is supper convenient and I dare say necessary on a phone. It also offers a pin base quick unlock feature.

These quick unlock features mean that my master password can be annoyingly long without making using it horribly inconvenient.

  1. Beyond convenient built in 2FA

Using Two Factor Authentication has never been easier. It’s built into the password manager. I don’t need to leave my desktop environment to use it. When logging it auto-fills the temporary code.

I do wonder if part of the point is to prove you have access to a second device. But its so convenient I have not reason not to use it. The convenience has improved my personally security. I think that its kinda a big deal.

  1. Stronger Password expectations
  2. Actually functional auto-fill on the phone.

I have never gotten lastpass to fill passwords on my phone outside of their built-in browser. (I know of it working on other peoples phones. So not everyone has this problem.)

I would always: exit the app > go to the lastpass > login > find the password > copy it > go back to the other app > and paste it in > and click login.

In comparason with Enpass, when I click on a form element a little diolog pops up asking my to unlock with my finger print then it allows me to select and account and then it logins in. So easy!

Try Enpass

Summery

Basically its way better than any other password manager I have ever used. It absolutely exceeds my expectations #notsponsored.

I was totally happy to pay it. The only downer is that its not opensource.
